Default Peep twisting

Is there any nifty way to keep my peep from twisting on me. I'll twist in on the string and have it all set for 2 or 3 shots but then it starts twisting on me again. What do you guys do?

Thanks

Josh

probably have to press the bow and put or take 1/2 twist or so from the bottom of the string - depending on which way your peep needs to go.

or offset your loop and lock it in place with some needle nose pliers.

SOUNDS LIKE YOUR LOOP IS TURNING ON THE STRING. MOVE IT UNTIL YOUR PEEP OPENS JUST RIGHT AND THEN TIGHTEN YOUR LOOP KNOTS AS TIGHT AS YOU CAN PULL THEM. GIBLET'S WAY IF THE LOOP ISNT LOOSE.

P.S. GIBBLET, I LOVE YOUR STRINGS

Doesn't matter whether he has a loop or not. The problem is inferior string, or one that doesn't have enough twsits in it to stabilize corectly. In either case adding a loop will not keep the peep from turning as the string twists.

You could try adding twists to the string to see if it helps. Most strings don't have nearly as many twists in them as they should. There should be a complete twist for about every two inches of string, and more if possible. This evens out the work each strand is doing so the thing will stabilize in time.

Next best thing is to throw the factory string away and get a good aftermarket one. I'd recommend Gibblet right here on this site. I've used several after market strings and they are all better than what the factory puts on. In my case, three different string makers, and NO peep rotation from any of them.

Well it sounds like next year I'll be getting a new string. I just got my bow shooting well and I guess I can live with it till the season is over. Any recommendations on strings?

Thanks for the info guys.

make sure you are putting the arrow on straight. If you put it on sidewyas, and rotate it to your rest, the peep/string will twist and give you grief.

One of the things I noticed, you said you just got your bow so chances are you string has not completely settled in. Shoot it some more and see if it works itself in. If not get a new premium string. Gibblet gets good reviews here on his strings. I shoot a Vapor Trail string and cable set on mine and have no problems with my peep rotating on me.

Before I bought a new string, I'd wait to see if the peep quit turning at some point, then I'd add a twist or two to get it in alignment. Make sure you have at least 200-300 shots on the new string before making any adjustments. If it continues to turn, and you don't want to buy a new string just yet, then you can try one of the many products that you add to your nocking point, to keep the string aligned, when you nock an arrow.
