Default Easton FMJ

I just had a dozen done up. 1/2 in Blazers and 1/2 in 2" Flex Fletch. I already have the ST Axis 400's but man these FMJ's are sweet. Mine are cut to 25". I have a 26" draw and my rest is the QUAD ULTRA. At 20yds I'm touching. Tac drivers with both fletchings. Anyone else shot these yet?

BT Equalizer
26" draw

HDW,
Man these things arehammers. I'm shooting 26" with 60#. My arrows are 25" and I'm sinking them 21" at 50-60yds. Now the BH tuning begins for my trip in November. Any suggestions for BH's? I'm mainly hunting deer and hogs. Thanks in advance.

Before I started using mechanicals I used 100 grain 4 blade muzzy's they are greatI will use them again if I ever feel like it. then I got lazy with the BH tuning and went to 100 grain Rocket hammer heads they'll hit dead center with my field points at 20 and 30 yards at 40 they hit a tad low.

also with my original post I was also not real familiar with the FMJ's then today my hunting buddy came over to shoot with me he had bought a dozen of them the penatration is a little better then a goldtip. So i decided to weigh his arrows, the fmj's weighed in 63 grains heavier then his gold tip arrows. then I chronographed them and he went from 262 fps with his goldtips to 241 fps with the fmj's. Im just not real sure if a few more inches of penetration is really worth that much of velocity loss. I dont know i guess im just a bit skeptical I would have to see how they did on game to make a call on them. One thing I do know the Fmj's will deffinately be more durable with the aluminum protecting the carbon core.

HDW,
Honestly I think theFMJ stabilizes better than my Axis st. Most of my problem is that I'm using a bit lighter arrowto get speed for KE into the target. I'll sacrifice that for more accurate penetration. At 40-50 yds with the FMJ's I'm getting1/2-1" groups. With the Axis St it's 1-2" groups and less penetration. The real key is going to be the BH test I'll do this weekend to decide which arrow I'm going to hunt with. I'm thinkingabout the 75gr muzzy. Thanks for your assistance and knowledge. I truly appreciate it more than you know.

Respectfully
MD

i was thinking about it today and im feeling the little bit denser shaft may actually help alot with the broad head tuning. where a typical carbon shaft being lighter would probably respond more to the plaining of the BH and take coarse to where ever the broadhead wants to go. the heavier fmj shaft I would think the KE retained in the shaft would take the BH with it and not let the plaining effect of the BH effect the accuracy. does that make any sense to ya? just not sure if I explained my idea very well.

HDW,
Makes perfect sense brother. To the point that my hunting arrows are now dialed in. I'm going with the Muzzy 75gr 3 bld. Twelve arrows hit the same POI. These things are hammers!

I bought 6 fmj, cause that was all the proshop had, I have been shooting them for 1 month and they shoot great and are very durable, they penetrate the targets deeply but pull out with ease.
Im shooting a 27" w/ 100 grain tip and 4" veins. total weight is 429gr. they fly @ 280 fps from my bowtech Allegiance 28" draw 70#.
I couldn't be happier.

I find that Blazers stabilize my arrow faster. I had 1/2 done with the flex fletch but they just didn't work. They hit 2" left of center. My blazers are dead on.
