Default Broadhead washer/spacer?

I meant to ask this ealier. When shooting the Muzzy BH on the ST Axis, should I have a spacer? Currently I do not and have noticed some stress on the end of the arrow.

you should not need any spacers for any broadhead.. sometimes guys will use a locking washer, but that is not needed either... if you are seeing stress then there must be something weaking the shaft such as the glue that was used on your inserts.

easton makes a washer but they are kinda expensive i use them just for easier arrow removal from my target. I dont know if they help with stress

I'm not quite sure what you're talking about. For fieldtips I don't use any washer or adapter as they're the same size as the shaft. For broadhead I use slicktricks, and they come with a flat washer. I've found that using that I can align the broadhead a little better and the blades lock down tighter using the washer. In addition, I use a broadhead adapter which tapers from the smaller diameter of the shaft to the larger diameter of base of the broadhead. I feel that this adds some strength to the head so that the energy is transferred more evenly to the shaft. It also helps when sighting in the broadheads on my foam block target as they pull out more easily without tearing up the target so bad.

That's exactly what I'm talking about there RO. Did you have to specify what type of arrow you use prior to ordering?
