Default foc

I was figuring the foc on my arrows. They are 28.5" long. The distance from the very center to the balance point was 3" so I divide 3 by 28.5 multiplied by 100.. came up with 10.52% . Is this a good percentage or is this all wrong? what is a good range? thanks

10.52% is okay. Not great, but okay... Normally, people say for bowhunting conditions, you should have an FOC upwards of 12%, but then again, that's not a carved-in-stone rule.

At 10.52% you might notice your arrow drifting off target a little more in a stiff wind, that's all.

I used that computer program OnTarget2 and even emailed the guy (Larry) who owns it about my bow and it's setup. He helped me get everything straight with entering the info.

My arrows are Beman ICS Hunter 340's cut @ 29.25" and I use 100 grain tips. My true FOC calculated out to be: 10.68% which is okay by me. It's a tad light, but I am still accurate out to 30 yards with it and still get good groups.
