Default Any tips for setting up the QAD Dropaway?

I just bought a new QAD Hunter Dropaway and I'm sillt have contact with the vanes. The proshop set it up by drawing the bow with the string loose and tightening up after it set itself. I was having some contact at the shop but we moved the rest a bit to paper tune it. It is shooting perfect bullets but my mole skin is getting frayed. I redid everything when I came home and I am still getting contact on the bottom 2 vanes. The proshop said the shoot it odd vane up, but I think it would clear better with the odd vane down. Any tips and suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

i had the same problem as you have explained what i noticed was that the drop-away rope wasnt as tight as it could be so we tightened that up and it worked ever since. also i have it attached to my cable slide not the cable itself dont kno if that will make too much of a difference or not

good luck getting it dialed in and good hunting

If you shorten the rope will the rest drop quicker?

I have been using one for a couple of years and love it. I have had no trouble, try it cock feather down that will solve your problem. The one thing you will notice is the improvement in groups.

I just put one on a few months ago.. my string is tight when i shoot. I also shoot cock vane up and have no issues. You could try to move the rest forward if you can. That will give it a little more time to fall away. But if youre shooting great i wouldnt worry bout it. Just do a broadhead tune and dont worry. as long as it doesnt affect the flight a little contact wont matter, think of all the guys that shoot the WB.

BUT i would try everything possible to aviod contact (after all you bought it for the 0-contact). If moving the rest forward and turning your nock so the cock vane is up doesnt work call the company. There is a way that you can tighten the spring in the rest so it will drop faster.

I just put the QAD rest on my bow last wk, and also getting some fletching contact. I first tried adjusting the drop timing, to dropped as soon as possible until my arrow went way off target, and had to bring it back some. I then tried changing my nock rotation so the cock vane was up, and down both. Still got contact each way. I got thinking maybe I should've been going vice versa on the drop timing, and tighten up the rope and the extra pressure would force the arm to drop faster. Moving the rest forward is also a good idea if I can do that. But I also wonder how much of this has to do with draw lengths, arrow lengths, and brace heights with this rest. If I can't figure it out I'll contact the company, sure they'll have some tips on it. But otherwise I'm shooting bullet holes with it, paper tuned great. I noticed right off my bow was quietier with this rest. I used to shoot a Timberdoodle rest.

I shortened the rope andinstalled the taller launcher arm. I was only able to shoot a couple more arrows after that, but it seemed to eliminate the contact. I'll know more tomorrow when I have more time to shoot.
