Default fletching jig

I am feeling pretty stupid now but I just bought a bitzenburger jig and can not figure out how to get the cock feather up on my shafts. Any help for an old dumb guy?

Say your colors are white and orange with the orange being the cock. Start with a white, then orange, and then white. Place on your bow and once nocked turn the arrow until the cock sticks either out or down which ever you prefer. Maybe I don't know what you mean though.

Thanks for the reply, I am fletching new arrows and I can't tell where to start the vanes so I end up with cock vane up. The directions are less than complete with the new jig.
PS I am returning to archery and have always made my own arrows but before I had cock vane out and with this new equiptment eveyone says cock vane up Thanks

Usually there is a notch on the dial and the base of the jig, where the 2 meet. Line those notches up and you should be set. At least, that's the way it is w/ my Grayling.

If all else fails, and you are luck enough to be using an arrow with a press-fit/movable nock, fletch the arrow however then just turn the nock to set it cockfeather up.

As far as setting the jig up for it, I don't knowhow the Bitzenburger's nock adapter works but it should have some kind of cam or tooth inside of it that acts as a position stop so you should be able to disengage the mech and rotatepart until you can orientate the way you want.
