Default BCY 452x vs. Brownell UltraCam

Being that I'm relatively new to string making I'm wondering what the advantage is of 452 over UltraCam. I've been pretty impressed with the UltraCam string material as a replacement for whatever was on my 2001 Hoyt UltraTec from the factory. Is 452 a better material or is it the same as UltraCam only by a different manufacturer?

Default RE: BCY 452x vs. Brownell UltraCam

They are very similar. The Ultracam has a slightly higher percentage of Vectran. Vectran will not stretch - even a little, but it is more brittle. In theory, Ultracam would be more stable, and more likely to break. In reality, I don't think the average person will notice a difference between the two in actual use. I've made many Ultracam strings and have been totally satisfied with them. I'm sure you can get many string makers to say the same about 452.
