BK II: Can't wipe the smile off my face

I purchased the 02 BK II about a week ago. The only bow shooting I have done was while I attended college in KS. I hunted two years & that was in 1996. I haven’t touched a bow since.

I shot about 30 arrows through my bow last week while waiting for the 30” mods. to come in. They came in & I had the proshop set it up.

02 BK II 5.5 BH
71lbs, 30” draw
ACC 3-60’s, 29.5”, 75 grain tip, 4” vanes
Bodoodle Pro-Lite
Peep sight, one brass nock point & an eliminator button
Limb savers
Carbon impact stabilizer
Matrix sight (soon to be Sure Loc)

I shot it 125 times today. I started @ 15 yds & worked back to 30 yds. I zeroed it in @ 20 yds, All I can tell you is, I had to call the proshop back & find how much they charge to re-fletch arrows. I shot holes in the vanes of 3 out of 6 arrows that I was using @ 20 yds. I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face. I was very concerned about the BH. I wanted the longer, but the short BH bow came in 1st. These BK II’s were flying off the racks @ my proshop. This bow is unreal; I can’t believe it’s accuracy for such a green archer. I want to shoot tomorrow so bad, but I can hardly lift my arm above my head.

Hint: buy some kind of arrow puller, this thing drills them into the target deeeeep!

Looking for a new stab. Any input.

Try stealth archery for the stab. Good to hear a &quot;green&quot; archer can shoot a 5.5BH. I'm not exactly in that category but I do have my doubts as to whether I could shoot a BH that low.

Anyone have any idea how fast a BKII at 70lbs would throw an arrow with my little 28 inch draw?

Glad to hear you like that bow so much.....it's a good one. You'll be hard pressed to find that level of performance and shootability anywhere. I know what you mean about pulling arrows......I got my Pro38 dual Cam (which is very similar to your bow) in January and made the mistake of shooting a cold 3D target! <img src=icon_smile_shock.gif border=0 align=middle> Do you have any idea what it's like trying to pull carbons from a cold 3D target when shot at 88ft lbs of KE!(I guess you do) After the 3rd one I was ready to call 911.<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

If you are looking for a perfect stabilizer for that bow, look no further than an 8&quot; Stealth &quot;Hunter&quot;,that's the one I ended up with on my Pro38......There are plenty of good stabilizers out there, but none that I have tried has compared to the Stealth , and that includes the SIMS line(which I think is good stuff).
The 8&quot; Stealth did more for reducing noise, recoil and vibration than anything I tried, which amounts to pretty much all the current production models, and Jerry at Stealth has said that they are even improved for 2003. With your &quot;Little&quot; draw <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle> with a normal string load of say leeches, a small peep, and a string loop realistically expect about 316fps +/- with the short brace version , and probably about 306fps or so for the high brace.
Remember these bows will do advertised speeds or they don't ship......BUT they measure these speeds with a bare string except for a small tie in nock set.
Everything you add to your string starts sucking up the speed......keep it light and simple and even you &quot;Draw length Impaired&quot; guys can see speeds well over 300fps with this bow.
Bare string a 28&quot; BKII should do 325+ for the short brace and 315ish for the high brace model.
Fastest bow on the planet!

Thanks Matt. The only thing on my string is leeches and a loop. I shoot a No-peep so no need for anything else.

cargo i shoot a 28&quot; bk2 at 60 lbs tall brace and a brass nock and a peep and string leaches 290 with a 350 grain arrow 275 to 280 with a 410 grain arrow

AB I shoot the Timberline No-Peep http://www.timberline-archery.com/np.asp Now that I've shot it for a while I dont think it's any more or less accurate than a string peep. It's just a different way to find a consistent anchor.
