Default String silencers/leeches

I'm looking at my hush kit on my new Equalizer and those string silencers are huge and I am guessing sucking up a few fps. My question is what would be a better alternative ( simms, cat wiskers ) that would still provide some string silencing and not rob as much speed? I do have an STS on it now.

Are you saying that because they soak up less speed or soak up the vibes better ?

because they are cheap, there is nothing that works any better at silencing or dampening, they are very light. i'm guessing that since they are probably lighter than anything else they don't suck speed off, but i don't chrono my hunting bow. i learned the hard way that quiet kills, not speed.

Terry, actually, they can gain you a fps or 2! Try sliding them all the way up to the pre-installed speed nocks and see what it shoots! If you remove the factory ones and replace with leeches or cat whiskers, etc.. you'll still have close to the same weight on the string!! Try an STS and you'll be pleasantly surprised!!

Rubber cat whiskers, in my opinion do not detract from speed, or performance, yet give a great hushing effect to the bow string.
