Default Release tight or loose?

Could anyone give me some advice about a release? Is it supposed to be tight or loose? When I bought the release, it fit perfectly, but now it seems like it's stretched a little, and it's too loose in the original hole, but too tight in the next hole up. I don't want it uncomfortably tight, but I don't want it slipping around either, do I? Which would you rather shoot with?

It's a Scott Archery Little Goose if that info helps any. And I don't have abnormal sizedhands... (I know what some of you are thinking!!) LOL.

Thanks, I appreciate the help in advance.

One of the reasons I switched to the 'velcro' hook and loop straps. The buckle straps (like the one you have) would stretch after a while and what you have explained in your thread crops up.
The original hole, the strap feels too loose and the hole up, the strap feels uncomfortably tight. You can try using a wrist sweat band, I'd used that for a while until I ordered just the strap from Scotts Archery (which by the way you can do).
Trying to bore another hole in between the two holes wouldn'd work for long and the hole eventually elongatesmaking things worse.

Same here... I have my Scott buckle strap just snug... but not wicked tight where it is cutting off circulation!

I also shoot a little goose, and love it. I like my buckle strap good and tight. I have kinda small wrists. I guess my size all went somewhere else! After I broke it in, I had it on the last hole and it was still a little loose. I just drilled another hole farther up and now it is perfect. I have never been a velcro fan, so I have always used the buckle straps.

I like the snug also, too loose leaves painful scrapes and too tight, well, is too tight..also not a fan of velcro

ok heres ther deal the main difference i've noticed is that the velcro straps arent consistent...with the little goose you can put it the strap on with the buckle with the same hole everytime unlike the velcro strap...you want that release to be a little bit looser so when you throw on a jacket or a glove it'll fit perfect
