Default Reborn? I dunno, but is sure is fun!

Its hard to describe but I am shooting more and having more fun shooting my bow this year than I have in 5-6 years, and most of this shooting is taking place in my back yard with 1-2 monthly 3D shoots thrown in. I sort of got away from shooting the last few years, no not totally stopping because I made sure I was always ready for deer season, but just couldn't get myself to go out and shoot like I used too. Now I am finding myself shooting at least a few arrows 7 days a week.......and I am enjoying it. I never stopped totally, just got in a rut where I had to sometimes make myself go out and shoot. Thats not good. My wife asked me why I am enjoying it(practicing) so much again(smiling as she said it). My answer was and I have narrowed it down to two main reasons:

First, my new bow just seems like its an extension of me.....hard to explain but its just right for me, righter than any bow I have owned for quite a while.

Second and foremost..........I seem to have finally conquered my acquired target panic of which I have been battling off and on for probably 7 years. Target panic in large part caused me to give up 3D shooting. Its no fun to be shooting well and then all of a sudden jerking, flinching, launching an arrow that seems better fitted for a NASA sendoff. That can stay with you, it bites and sometimes the more you battle it the worse it can get because in the back of your mind you are thinking you might embarrass yourself at any time with another spaceshot. Those who have suffered from TP most likely know full well what I am talking about. Its been a battle now and then, but with full confidence I am ready to announce its officially over due to quality practice and with the purchase of a bow that like I said, seems to be part of me. Dang, this sure is fun shooting this much again!!!!!!

Nice to hear Coug. I know what you mean about target panic. It seems you and I have been walking the same path over the last couple years. Now all of a sudden it seems I am really enjoying shooting again. It is a great feeling, isn't it?

Nice to hear, Coug... And glad you like your new bow so much, too!

We've still got to get together sometime in the next few years and share a deer camp, ya know?

Cougar, I read this and thought perhaps you had overheard a conversation I've had recently. I know precisely what you're talking about. I am having more fun shooting than I have ever had in my life. My bow fits me perfectly. It is the most comfortable and set up better than any bow I've owned. Like yours, it's almost an extension of me. I also had problems with target panic which I've only recently gotten over. I think part of it is the new bow. This sounds cocky, but it's not, it's confidence. I just KNOW when I loose the string my arrow is going right where I aim. Man, this is just plain ole fun right here!!!!

Glad you're enjoying as well!!!
