Default CHECK YOUR CAMS ON YOUR NEW BOWTECH'S

Just let you all know, when I went to the pro shop this weekebd the Pro shop owner told me to check my cams on my Tribute I got a few weeks ago.He has been having problems with the cams bending. He showed me a Alliegence that had it,on the bottom cam where you have the open loop of metal, they have been compresing some causing them to bulge out and bend.
It's a easy fix once it is found.Where it's bendind they(Bowtech) take a new cam and weld a pice of metal to renforce the open loop.
This has been vary isolated, when he called he was about the only shop to have this problem,he's had maybe 10 bows returned cause of this. And maybe thats why they have diffent cams on the newer bows since the 1st of March.
I'm not slamming Bowtech or any others this just a heads up for you guys.

I've seen a pic of a bow that had been dry fired that had collapsed lobes on the cams. A lot of energy there for that lobe to take from a dry fire.

don't worry, all the big companies tell the shop they are 'the only shop' having this issue. i'm sure its happened elsewhere.

I'm not sure I'm following what the damage is?
I have seen a warped cam picture myself (maybe the same one as WWAG)and it was from a guy who accidentally dry fired the bow........

You have one shop with 10 bows like this?
Like I said I've only heard of that one bow of any model for 06' having cam damage I assume like what you describe and I have all the inside info you could want.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding you?

I had one in my shop that had the string jump the cam groove. I suspect it was because the cam was warped slightly. It was warped a lot after the string jumped out!! Customer service at BowTech was awesome. They had a new cam out the same day I talked to them and I had the guy shooting again within the week, and we aren't even a BowTech dealer.

Are you able to edit a picture and post it where you're talking about on the cam? Thanx

I'll check, but find it very hard to imagine that bowtech would be welding on a new cam to make it mo-betta?

I'd like to see some pics of a welding reinforced cam.

Not calling you out, just questioning what your dealer told you......

Mil-Dot,
I have nothing against bow-tech,I was just stating something I was toldAND by the way MINE is a 80# Tribute, maxed out to 81 lbs.

Jerry I tried to up load a picture off their web site but I'm no good at this computer stuff. If someone would post a pic of their bowtech I would be glad to show you.

Dave,
I would be glad to show you if I had one,I have not had ANY,NONE,ABSOLUTE NO problems with my new Tribute,I guess it's not welding but probaly pressing a new cam and replacing it.Look at a cam on say a Tribute, right where the string wraps around cam, there is a big open ear lobe looking thing,Right there they are adding another pice of metal.I was going to count the holes on mine to tell you how many, but I forgot last night.

I only saw two bows with this problem, one you had to run your fingers on to feel the bend and the other was visible. The dealer said he had several come back, not counting the ones hanging,so I was guessing around 10.
