I have the QAD hunter rest installed on my Darton marauder and the rest seems to be falling away, but the launcher shows marks from the fletchs hitting it, and arrow flight isnt that great at 20 yards... i set it up best i could according to the instructions... any tips?? anyone else had this problem, and no its not a faulty rest
Perhaps the timing is off. That is to say, the rest comes up to early and falls too late. Mayberasie the draw cord on the cable causing the rest to fully rise later in the draw cycle.
And yes, it is possible it just doesn't fall fast enough. I would check the timing first though.

yepper does sound like a timing problem. But again I switched to the WB and havent gone back. I know the drop aways and center shots are great, but just too much to worry about! Stick with the one that the arrow wont fall off and dont have to worry about anything but the world class standing in front of me! [8D]

i acually just switched from the biscuit... not that impressed, wrecked alot of vanes, and got too many "flyers"
I was lucky enough to have the USA Olympic Archery Coach share some info and SLow motion footage of dropaway rests... what they found in their experimentation was that the optimum setup was for the rest to steer the arrow for 4 inches of the shaft.... I tested this at the shop by coming to full drawand we appliedlipstick on the rest launcher and then I had someone lay the arrow on the rest and then I shot the arrow... the lipstick showed some... but some was lost to the arrow burying to deep in the target to get a clean result to measure.... so I found I had to test at 60 yards where I wasnt getting as much arrow penitration so I could see the true results of the lipstick and we got 4 inches... We also watched slow motion footage of how some dropaway rests were dropping in perfect time but the were bounceing off the rest shelf and bounceing back up and hitting the tail end of the arrow..... was some pretty interesting stuff to watch.... some dropaways in the slow motion footage had a cord with a knot in it that shoots forward at the shot ... like the Mathews dropaway rests... and the cord would shoot forward and into the path of the arrow and alter the arrows flight... its a perfect example of why the cord should be knotted and then tied to the post on the rest just like in the mathews directions...

The QAD is also notorious for not coming from the factory with enough spring tension. Not enough spring tension can also result in bounce back as Lady Forge has instructed.
I am lucky enough to have found a dropaway rest that doesn't bounce back at all. Stiff spring and absolutely no fletching problems even with cockbird down.
FUFANU,
I installed a QAD on my Reflex Super Slam and I love it.My bowcame with a Whisker Biscuit and that performed well at shots out to 30 yds but I was loosing tight groups beyond that. The QAD Ultra solved my problem. One thing I would look at is the nock. Is it square? Maybe try paper tuning if you haven't already. Just a suggestion. Good luck.

I did too, but real feathers work better..... use my own turkey feathers and never had one strip off!
But each of us has our favorites, just know I dont have to worry about arrow falling off, I have guys with new Matthews (mine is older) tell me mine is quieter then theirs so I guess I am doing okay! [8D]

I also had the same problem. I shoot a trykon xl.Are you shooting cock fletch up. I called qad and the sent me a taller launch arm that seemed to help. I also noticed that the bozo at the pro shop i bought my bow from didnt have my rest centered with my string correctly. After I changed all that it shooting good. Here is the # to QAD 1-434-846-5839 ext.16. the guy I talked to isDaniel. He is realy helpful.

sent mine back, got a faster spring, still had clearance issues, talk to charles beasely at qad twice...threw it away. If you want a containment rest, two of my friends went from qad to ripcord.
