Default Black Knight 2 questions

I currently have a Legacy and love the bow. Of course, being an avid archer I want 2 bows and was considering a 2003 BKII outfitted with a Muzzy Zero Effect rest. My questions are:

1) Are the dual cams hard to tune and do the require more tuning/maintenance then a single cam?

2) Does this bow get more vibration, jump than single cams?

3) Is the bow quiet and is it as accurate as my Legacy?

4)With option 2 and the longer brace height, is it still forgiving enough to hunt with?

5) Anybody don't like yours or had bad experiences with the bow?

Thanks.

I'll try to answer your questions the best I can.

With the quality of the strings and cableing being used frequent tuning is really a non issue. After the initial shoot in you may have to tweak one cable or another but then you should be good to go. The 2003's are supposed to have cable tuners so it will make the tuning even easier.

For a speed bow the BK2 is a VERY smooth shooting bow. I don't think you'll hear too many argue about that either. As far as more jump that's going to vary from one persons opinion to another but I feel that most any single cam will have more jump than a dual simply because the dual has two eccentrics moving in sync with each other versus a single cam ecenntric moving by itself kicking the bottom limb out (with the exception of a Patriot or Legacy) and the idler has no thrust or movement other than going around. I hope that all made sense to you.
Either brace will be plenty forgiving to hunt with and of course the taller brace being more forgiving. Just make sure if you wear bulky clothes to wear an armguard to keep the sleeve out of the way. I wear one with my 7 1/2" brace bow wen I wear a heavy coat.
The bow can be as quiet as anything on the market but really depends on the set up and accessories you put on it. Will it be as quiet as a Legacy out of the box?...I doubt it (I've never shot or seen a Legacy shot) but I can pretty well be sure that it will not be quite as quiet as a Legacy...
I hope that helps you with the information you wanted....

I purchased the 02 BK II about a week ago. The only bow shooting I have done was while I attended college in KS. I hunted two years & that was in 1996. I haven’t touched a bow since.

I shot about 30 arrows through my bow last week while waiting for the 30” mods. to come in. They came in & I had the proshop set it up.

02 BK II 5.5 BH
71lbs, 30” draw
ACC 3-60’s, 29.5”, 75 grain tip, 4” vanes
Bodoodle Pro-Lite
Peep sight, one brass nock point & an eliminator button
Limb savers
Carbon impact stabilizer
Matrix sight (soon to be Sure Loc)

I shot it 125 times today. I started @ 15 yds & worked back to 30 yds. I zeroed it in @ 20 yds, All I can tell you is, I had to call the proshop back & find how much they charge to re-fletch arrows. I shoot holes in the vanes of 3 out of 6 arrows that I was using @ 20 yds. I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face. I was very concerned about the BH also, & wanted the longer, but the short BH bow came in 1st. These BK II’s were flying off the racks @ my proshop. This bow is unreal; I can’t believe it’s accuracy for such a green archer. I want to shoot tomorrow so bad, but I can hardly lift my arm above my head. Hint: buy some kind of arrow puller, this thing drills them into the target deeeeep!

Is it quiet? Can’t answer it yet. I haven’t put any leeches on the string yet, I wanted to shoot it for a while 1st. It just so happens my brother just bought a Legacy. He pulls 62 lbs, 28.5” draw, 3-60 ACC’s, Bodoodle zapper 300, limb savers & no leeches. I have only listened to him shoot once, & it was very very quiet. He took a buck last week @ 25 yds. He said the other deer around the buck he shot didn’t even move after he hit the buck. They just stood there, they had no idea what had happened.

I shoot a light arrow real fast, so noise kind of comes with that, is what I am told. If you shoot more grains per/inch your sound drops. I am thrilled with this bow, this weekend my brother & I will get together & shoot & I will report back to you on the sound.

I've found the bk2 to be very fast and forgiveing {read accurate} . Its noise is on level with an average one cam not loud or very much hand shock , if you've ever shot a mathews ultra2 that bow is louder and has more hand shock IMO .The legacy is the quietest bow I've shot but I was not very accurate with it and the speeds they post for it are way off its much slower than advertised .Got rid of mine after 2 weeks .

If information provided by the members of this board have helped you please let us know .

Thanks for all your responses. I believe I'll go ahead and put one on order. It sounds like its quite a bow. If you get any more info let me know as I'll be checking this post for the next week or so.
