Default Hollowpino sight

I might try this one. I already have a Proslide model. I wonder if I can buy the rear site part and attach it....

I can't see that design working very well. The rear sight is WAY to close to the front one to do any real good. All it is doing is cluttering up your view pretty much. If you can shoot well with that sight just take the peep off from your bow and use a regular 3 pin or adjustable one pin. You will probably shoot just as well.

Imagine if you were shooting a handgun and the sight length was like one inch, I doubt it would be very accurate. Compare that to a handgun with a six inch barrel or a rifle, they are more accurate because the sight length is longer. Same thing with using a peep sight in a bow, it gives you 25-30 inches of sight length between the front and rear sight. Even the Hindsite gives you about half a foot depending on the model you use and how you set it up. The hindsite would be a much better choice than this thing, other than it will not work with an adjustable sight. A No Peep will though. The No Peep is not an aiming device though, more a way to check your form before you shoot.

It looks like a nice sight. Definitely not for target but I can see it working for deer!

I sort of agree with Paul, although not with his reasoning: I can't see it working very well because the field of view is way too cluttered. If you can shoot a single pin well (you already have a proslide, right?), then why go to this one?

However, I don't believe that 'rear sight' is actually a real sighting device like a peep or the rear sight on a gun. If you were using a peep, it should more or less line up with the outer rim of the sight, not the inside one (I don't use one). I think the designers were trying to create concentrate circles that focus your eye onto the pin faster, with the thought being that you can aim at the deer faster, like some sort of quick draw contest. But I can't conceive of how this would be any help at all. If you're trying to draw and shoot that fast, you'll probably just scare the animal away, and even if you don't, you're just as likely to lose your target in all that clutter .

On the otherhand, if clutter is what floats your boat, go for it.

I was taking it as a peep replacement type sight like the Hindsite or no peep. Why else would it have a rear sight? That is what I was commenting about, it is way to close to be effective, where as the hindsite and others like it have alonger sight radius would probably work better.

As far as just using it as a sight with a peep I am sure it will work, but why bother with the other part? It will just clutter up your view and add weight. Makes no sense to me.

Well I just looked at the website and they are listing it as a round sight apeture, like using a ring for target shooting. However it states that by adding the front pin you can do away with your peep sight. So they are trying to compare it to the hindsite or simular device. I don't think it will work that well for that purpose. I actually like the sight without the front pin though.
