Default prob with timberline's NO-PEEP

I just put a no-peep on my hoyt and so far am getting mixed impressions. I really think that I just need more time with it but so far the results areiffy evenat 10 yards. I find my arrows hitting in all directions away from my point of aim but are always within 2 inches of where I'm aiming. That of course means a 4 inch group at 10 yards which is unacceptable by hunting and my standards.

Before the no-peep I was doing 3 inch groups with the nitehawk #3 peep sight at twice the distance. I began to think that something was loose on my bow or that the no-peep itself was defective. Well, the nuts and bolts are as tight as they can be without stripping. However, I'm not so sure about the internal structure of the no-peep soperhaps something is moving around inside there? If anyone has any insight into this please respond.

Sometimes my arrows will consistently hit aquarter sized area 2 inchesleft of point of aim. Sometimes it will be quartersized consistent up and right. I even suspected that there was something wrong with my arrow (I shoot the same arrow over and over to maximize arrow and flight consistency) so I tried switching to a brand new never before shotarrow - same thing. WADAYA THINK?

Make sure you follow through on the shot. When i noticed my groups start to open up I have to open my hand and just touch the riser with the tips of my fingers, the groups usually shrink back down.

Sounds like you could be moving your anchor points a little here and alittle there, but still getting somewhat of a circle in circle. Make sure to try your best to anchor the same each time to acheive the double circle.

I too could make my groups move to the right & left when I first started using the no-peep, but as Gibblet stated- use it for a while & they will get more consistant to the pointof as near perfection as modern hunting equipment needs to be. (as good as you were before)

True---practice makes perfect.

When shooting a bow with a regular peep installed you are lookingthrough the center of the string. This is an automatic reaction, and finding the right form and anchor is easy with the peep installed.
With the No-Peep installed I and many others here find it to be much more stable looking to the right of your string.
That being right handed of course, left handed the opposite.
Are you looking to the right of your string or left of it?
This will bring the string closer to your face making a rock solid anchor, everytime.
The little black hole is dead center of the yellow circle when anchored?
Canting the bow, jumping the string, jerking your release, droping bow arm all at the shot will definately cause this.

After tinkering with mine, and alot of practice of course,I will never go back to a regular peep again.Very rarely I even look at my No-Peep,but it is there as a reference if needed.

I have to agree with the practice and get back later. The no peep really makes your anchor very consistant and you will learn the slight variations in yours as time goes on. The no peep will show that to you. And, I might add, your groups will shrink dramatically.

Thanks for the input everyone. I will give it more than the 100 shots I've so far. It was the occasional but consistent (when it happened) quarter sizedgroups that kept moving around that had me scratching my head. I didn't want to accept that I was doing anything different but it's the only explanation beyond something moving around inside the no-peep.

...and extreme1, my left is my bow arm and I'm looking to the left of the string.

Update: (yes already)

After I posted here I put about 30 arrows through my bow at exactly 10 yards between my living room and kitchen and... I found that I shoot better groups when I put electric tape over the no-peep. I guess concentrating on aligningthose 2 circles then my pin and target on top of it gets to be too much. Not sure if this means I should just disregard the no-peep and concentrate on remembering my anchor point better instead.

One of the problems some people have with the no-peep is that it can be aligned by torquing the bow. A stable grip is a must for the no-peep to work correctly. If it doesn't align when at full draw, do not adjust your grip to get it back in.
