Default Have you seen this?

Has anyone checked out the new Alpine Archery site 2003 catalog? They have a 28 axa with a 7.5 brace height. No speed given, but it looks like a good stand or blind hunting bow. Anyone out there shoot a short axa bow? If so how does it shoot? I'm looking for a short axa for stand hunting only. I'm only a 27 in. draw, so speed is a little important.

Just curious.

Considering that during a hunting day, on the average one might make 1 or 2 shots, or none at all, what makes a bow specifically a stand or blind hunting bow?

What type of bow is not a stand or blind hunting bow, and why not?

My Wife shoots a BowTech Tec 29 at 54 pounds and 26 inch draw and gets 254 fps with a 313 grain arrow. This bow shoots better for her than anything she has had in the last 18 years. The accuracy she has now is scarry and the Tec 29 is 18 fps faster than her Parker UL 31. Try shooting one, I'd bet you'll like it.

c903, I'll throw something in the pot you're stirring. I'd consider a bow over 38" ATA less desirable than a bow under 38" in a treestand or blind. Maneuverability can be an issue. To get a shot off, the angles and contortions required may be better served by a shorter, lighter bow.

A very loud, heavy, really long, inaccurate bow.<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

Well, since you asked....I'm shooting a 32&quot; A2A Martin Jaguar w/29&quot; draw (you can see my bow pics on my link) and love it. It is the only bow that I have ever owned/shot so my comparison ability is limited. I shoot from both a climber (summit viper) and a permanant stand wih no dificulty in regards to mobility. I have never shot through a chrono but I can tell you its fast! My shots are reaching the target as quickly as my buddies MQ2....hope that this helps.
