Default Hoyt XT 2000 Limb Problem?

I have a 2002 MagnaTec with the XT 2000 limbs. The other day when pulling my bow up in the stand, I felt a sharp sticking pain in my hand. When I looked at the limbs on the bow I noticed some "splinters" about 4 inches long coming from the outside edge of one of the upper limbs. I then looked the bow over real good and noticed more "splinters" coming from one of the bottom limbs. Has anyone seen this on these limbs and is this something that I should be able to get new limbs for?[/align]

Yes it should be covered under warranty. Assuming that you didn't dry fire the bow.

Take the bow to a Hoyt dealer and he will get you some new limbs free of charge.

The bow has never been dry fired so hopefully things will work out.

Be carefull when pulling the bow up the tree. If it hits against something hard like a treestep, it could cause this condition. I've only seen one set of broken Hoyt XT limbs since they came out with the 3/4" version. So, breakage of these limbs is rare.

They should be covered under warranty.

Len is right about the limbs.

I have seen them fail when the limbsavers are mounted too far down the limbs(middle) causing them to splinter.

Nevertheless, should be no problem getting them replaced.
