Default over spined arrows

I understand why an underspined arrow is not good, but can someone explain why an overspined arrow is not good as well? Is it more than just poor flight? Also I heard that a heavier tip will lessen the spine.

A heavier tip will compress the arrow more on release. So you heard correct ... a heavier tip weakens the spine.

As far as underspined/overspined I'm till learning the dynamics myself.

An over spined arrow can be tuned to any bow with the only disadvantage of additional weight.

Unless your shooting with a finger release - then you need the arrow to bend around your rest as it travels past it. Too stiff of an arrow and I think you will have rest contact problems

Sniper had it right. If you're using a release, it's hard to be overspined. Once I used a stiffer shaft than the charts said, my BHs flew better.
