Default Sight Set Up? 1 pin to 3 pins

I have a whole new setup this year including a 3 pin sight. I have used a single pin sight in the past set to 25 yards. It was pretty accurate for anything shorter than 25 yards, but for longer targets, I would just put the pin a little higher than what I wanted to hit...

My question is I am asking for opinions on how some of you have your sight pins set up. I figure the trajectory of the arrow will be pretty straight in early flight, the slope drastically towards the end of the flight.

I figure my highest pin should be 20 - 25 yards, the middle about 35-40 and the lowest about 45-50.

What are your thoughts?

IMO you'd have to spend plenty of time at the range to dial in what you want to do. If you have time, great, if not, add 1 more pin and make it your 50..know what I mean? There's alot of things going on in our brains when the animal steps in range. Personally I want to put 1 pin behind the shoulder and pull the trigger, be it the 20 or the 50 pin. If your figuring "trajectory" you have to be right on. An inch or 2, or even more,to high or lowcould result inlong tracking job, possibly never recovering your game. I've tried to do what you want to do and Inever felt comfortable in the field. Go back to your 1 pin or set up a 4 pin. Thats my .02. Good luck to ya.

I got four pins on my sight.

The first one is set at 30 yards. Out to 30 yards I am no more than 2 inches high at any point.

From there on out I got a 40, 50, & 60 yard pin.

It really depends on how fast your arrows are leaving the bow as to how you should set your pins. Before this I had 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 yard pins because my bow was a bit slower than my alleginace.

Most shots on game with a bow are 35 yards and in. I would suggest 20, 30 and 40 yard settings. By splitting these three pins you will have spot on 25 and 35 yardage references and a 40 point on.
