Default I shot it.......and bought it.

It was a miserable day, weatherwise in SW PA today, and with a doe in PA and little buck in WV under my belt, I decided to relax today. Then...I get a call from my local bow shop, and the owner tells me Tony Tazza from Hoyt is stopping by with the new bows. Before he got "Taz" out of his mouth, I wasstanding in his shop, fondling it....the Tricon XL.Man isit a sweet shooting bow. I thoughtmyXtec was a smooth shooter, huh-uh. Not even close. This bow doesn't move in your hand. The particular bow I shot was60lb., 29" drawwith 80% let off. It shot 261 with an extremely heavy new Easton arrow, weighing9.9 gr. per inch, probably28-29 in. long with 4" vanes and 100gr tip. 30 or so shots with it, and I was sold. Ordered myself a 60lb, 28" draw Tricon XL with 65% let off. It should be here just in time for indoor spot leagues. I won't sleep for 3 months...

I also appreciate Mr. Tazza taking a few moments to talk to me today about getting the right set up for myself. He is a class act.

I was told the Trykons would be shipping in 2 - 3 weeks.

Hard to say about that. The early orders will ship first, as in the orders taken NOW. So I put mine in. The "shooter" bows will arrive first. I heard January being tossed around, so we'll see.

Sounds like an awesome bow!

By "shooter" bow... are you referring to the ones that are co-oped to the store's "representative"?

Yea I believe that's the technical explanation. I don't shoot a lot of competition outside the shop very much, so I don't know how they work that out.

I am happy to hear good things about this bow. I saw it for the first time on saturday. It looks sweet. How much did it run you. I would like to purchase one for myself and would like to have an idea of what the market is like. My truck broke down, and college prices are rising like gas prices. Anyways, glad you like it and good luck.

Well jsasker, it took only one shot for me to say "holy hel this thing feels good!" Love at first touch.....if there is such a thing!

As far as price, It's gonna be in the high 600-low 700range I believe. I left my girlfriend a couple months ago, so I just didn't care! That and I'm really good friends with my shop owner, so I don't have a problem giving him the dough.........and I'll be selling Xtec when the new one gets here, so it's just like any other upgrade you want in life.
