Default Opinions on "Idiot Proof Archery".

Has anybody read this book, and if so what did you think of it? Is it worth adding to the collection or is it just a bunch of hoo haw?

Lady,

I have the book and think that its worth it. Idiot Proof Archery is a collection of information that Bernie Pellerite has compiled from other archers through the years. It is exactly what he teaches at his shooters school less one on one time he gives, the video tapings, according to those I know that have attended class. The book is an info-mercial for Bernie and his products. However, there is a lot of good information there. Bernie's style of writing is a bit of "in your face" which from I have heard is how he is in person. I often lend the book out to archers that I am starting out, the information clears the way for better communication together.

I have not read the book yet, but one of the top five shooters in my area told me about two weeks ago that if I wanted to improve that I shjould to get the book and read it at least three times. He sead that he was shooting in the 280s, indoor, before he got the book. Now he has shot 300 in every tournament he has shot in the last two years, and won half of them. I looked up his scores.

Good luck and may your arrows always find the Bulls Eye.

It's worth your money and time to get the book! My Wife got one due to target panic and flinching and she has improved her accuracy a great deal. A lot of what Bernie writes in his book is common sence stuff but the way it reads, really hits home.

Bernie's book is definately worth looking into. I have read the book twice in full and a number of specific parts over and over. I seem to find something new each time I read it. I do not agree with everything he says, but that is part of being an intelligent, learning individual. . . use what you can; lose what you cannot. The book, however, is no where near attending Bernie's school. It is a nice summation, but like anything that qualifies as a secondary source it is simply not the real thing. One part of the book that is not covered thoroughly, in my opinion, is the mental aspect of shooting. If you want an authority on the subject seek out Lanny Basham's book, "With Winnning In Mind." This is a must read. --Ike

Ok - so - Bernie is related to the almighty in many circles but can he help the 55x300 archer?? When I miss the X I know 'I' missed the X - why should I buy the book..??

Everything I heard was forget about it - you'll be shooting a blank bale from 2 yards for 3 months & you're 'not that bad' to worry about it...

Thoughts??
