"Now for the rest of the story."
Just like the news media, we do not always get the other side of the story and/or retractions.
It is obvious that there are shooters whom initially claim -with much premature gusto, that a bow or an accessory they have purchased is the greatest thing since sliced bread. They rave on for sometime but then their joy and satisfaction appears to rapidly fade away. The person no longer talks about the specific gear and seemingly avoids the threads that are discussing the gear the shooter once thought was a boon.
It is time to be truthful and humble and admit the honest error you made. Tell us about that piece of gear that turned out to be a piece of crap, did not live up to the manufacturer's claims, or you are about to dump. Provide details.

Sorry c903. I couldn't resist. I will give some serious thought to this issue though as I am sure there has to be some gadget that I totally found useless after thinking rather highly of it.
Hmmm... How about Blackhawk Vapor All Carbon Arrows? I had very good initial impressions of them in terms of consistant spine and weight but then, after several months of shooting, I found the durability was more than questionable.

I've got 2 things that have come off my bow almost as fast as they went on. I never have hyped either one and really have nothing positive to say about them. They are String Leeches and a Flatliner sight.

Yes , I was one who praised the NAP 2000 drop away rest when I first got it. To make a long story short , I wasn't happy with the mechanics of the rest. I dont believe it rises to the exact location shot after shot , it was a little noisy and I had one break on me , but had it replaced. (set screw stripped or broke during a 3d shoot) Nap was good about replacing it , but it still went into my tackle box in favor of the whisker biscuit for hunting. (keep it simple) I didn't post on the subject because I knew there would be those who would be offended by it and blame my disappointment on something I did wrong.

Hmm...I can't say there is much that I've hyped that I totally felt was crap...some things dissapointed me..The Impact Cosmic sight...my Legacy,Vortec, CyberTec and HavocTec...I'll go with Frank's choice too: the Vapor all carbons..and CXL's (nice shaft, totally "undurable"

I can also say though there are some things I got rid of I REALLY wish I had kept..My G3.2....My HHA sight....my virginity...OPPS...Ahem...I.. Weeeelllll, probably the Flatliner sights I had. One moved on me. I just came to dislike the verticle pins. More personal than anything else, I'd say.
The stabilizer I can't remember the name of. I fell and broke it off. I tried all the hunting stabes at the shop and found the Isolator to be much better. Oops, I shouldn't say that in this thread.
Jeff, what disappoints you about the Cosmic sight?

I've got one. <img src=icon_smile_blush.gif border=0 align=middle> I initially liked the HindSite. It got rid of my peep which I wasn't shooting very well with. But the more I used it, the more I disliked the very touchy adjustments when sighting in. Also, my basic model would bend slightly in the bowcase, and I'd have to bend it back a tisch to get it back on target. I did learn some things about torque while using it, and I wouldn't say it is trash. It is just that my CJ sight with a 1/4" peep centering the sight was worked wonders for my groups, resulting in my first robinhood. I said I'd not go back to a peep... please pass the crow. <img src=icon_smile_blush.gif border=0 align=middle>

Couple of treestands I bought turned out to not work for me. Hunters View Wildcats. I just couldn't get em to hang right and feel stable enough. I really wanted them to work. I sold them along with some climbing sticks (which worked great) and bought a couple of Hunters View ladder stands. These worked better for me.
