Default Removing a Brass Nock?

My bow was set up (When I purchased it)with two brass Nocks, One below and one Above the arrow. When I had the string replaced they put them back on how they were. In addition to these two nocks I have a peep site w/ rubber hose & a lip thingy and two silencer fuzziesmounted on my draw string.

Is this a waste of energy? I was looking to remove the top brass nock, how do youwithout damaging thestring?

This is only my second year bow hunting so I am attempting to fine tune / change the bow alittle to better fit me and hunting.

Thanks in Advance.
Keith

Hi there, there are a couple of ways. They actually make a tool for removing them, check with a local archery shop. Second, use a pair of dykes (wire cutters) and a small set of pliers. Hold one side of the knock with the pliers and use the dykes sideways and spread the knock. Piece of pie.

I just use the jaws of my nocking pliers to gently spread the nock and then remove it with my fingers . You wouldn't lose enough energy to be worth worrying about if you left them on .

If you do decide to remove a brass nock, remove the bottom one.

And prepare to re-tune your bow.

I ended up picking up a set of nock pliers and a square.

If you read my other post you will see that I am struggling with tuning my bow in with the new rest I purchased.

Was on before upgrades, wishing I wouldn't of touched it and just dusted it off and practiced.[>:]

I'd remove the bottom knock and download a copy of the Easton tunning guide, it sure helped me with my tunning.
