What is a good glue to use for the inserts? Guy at Gander Mountain suggested "Gorilla Glue". I ended up getting some "Steel Force - Beyond Bond" glue. Seems to be holding up good.....so far.

I wouldn't use any type of polyurethane glue (i.e. Gorilla Glue, Powerbond By Elmer's etc.) The reason being that these glues will expand when the set up. Personally I recommend a 2-part epoxy, they are available at any hardware store for a inexpensive price.

Hot melt glue works well for aluminum, but not so much for carbon. 2 part epoxy is the best for carbon. Just make sure to put on a thin, even layer so as not to put too much weight on one side.
