Default Back Tension - starting to pay off

As many of you know, I've been battleing target panic for a year or so now. I picked up a back tension release at the Harrisburg show and have been practicing with it since. I just couldnt resist bragging, so here is a snapshot of a 60 yard group
that I shot about a half hour ago. (I have a 100 yard righted range here at the ranch.) This is obviously a better than average group, but I've gone from not being able to hold on the dot, to holding a 4 - 5" group at 60 consistantly.

nice job josh. best thing about is when you execute properly you don't even have to look where the arrow went, you already know it was a bull. i've put my pure bt down as i'm about 8 days from the season opener and gone to a tru-ball sabretooth thumb trigger. i just want to be able to snap shoot if i need to. the pure bt will be back out as soon as season is over.

It helps by not allowing you to anticipate the release. By just concentrating on the spot you want to hit and not worrying about having to trigger the release, it cures target panic

Target panic is in the mind and sometimes if you change the method in which the shot is execuited, you can overcome your fears of missing. I've been using a Copper John Eagle 3 finger lately and I can easily hold on target now where before I was freezing on top of the bullseye. I challenge myself now to just execute the shot for a perfect suprise release and100% of the time the shot will be on the mark if I do. Having my "punching" finger loaded with some of the holding weight of my bow, I must think about squeezing with my whole hand to get the shot to go. Sure I can still punch the trigger with my middle finger but it's not ingrained in my "timing" or drive by shooting.

I worked in a tire shop for about 11 years and handled impact wrenches every day and "punched" the trigger every time,, but not with my middle finger
