Default Ways to shorten draw length

I have an older bow that I'm tring to see if I can get it to fit someone with a shorter draw length. I've adjusted the cams to the shortest draw per factory instructions, but it's still about 2" to long. Before anyone starts riding me about getting a bow that fits because at this time another bow isn't an option. The bow has adjustments from 31" to 33". I'm thinking he needs a 29" draw. I know that shorting the string will help, but I'm not sure how much. The bow is a York Majhave.

Is there hope or should we just wait on a bow that fits.

Thanks,
Tom

You could twist the string and take off a string loop if it has one.

Wow, I've not heard anyone mention York Archery in a long time. I used to have one of their recurves many years ago.

If he's using a release, shorten it up as much as you can and lose any string loops.

Yeah it's an older bow. I bought it new in '91. I am trying to get him to use a release, so I'll lose the loop. Obivious but I flat out missed it.[]Does anyone know how much shorter of a string can be used? Don't want to damage the bow or get him hurt.
