Default Ultra Nok, T.R.U. Nok?

Are these loops all that and a bag of chips? Is regular nylon rope better?

Only real advantage is ease of installation. Disadvantages- much heavier, you will lose fps, perhaps as much as 15 fps. They can whip forward upon release, and leave one heck of a welt or worse on your arm.

Only way I'd recommend them is if you can't tie on a loop and don't have access to someone who can.

Use the search function; almost everyone prefers a string loop. I used to mess with those metal horsehoes, now I'm a confirmed string loop user.

I can't say that they are all that and a bag of chips, but they are pretty good. I don't like the string loops, especially since I had one that a &quot;pro&quot; tied on blow up on me at about 3/4 draw. Talk about almost soiling oneself<img src=icon_smile_blush.gif border=0 align=middle>.
They are so easy to install, most any idiot can accomplish it. If you take your time, fool around with it, and position it correctly on the string it will twist the string around and align your peep sight everytime. I don't know of anyone, personally, that has had one whip forward and tag their arm. Attribute it to good and proper form, I guess. I have one installed on all of my bows, and install them when setting up bows for friends. No complaints yet. I don't worry about the loss of velocity. It's more than made up for in the extra confidence, in my case.

I tried the TRU Nok this year and was using it with a TRU Ball Loopmaster release. They are supposed to work in conjunction but from time to time the jaw of the release would catch and result in some very wild shots. It also robbed about 11 fps from my setup compared to a string loop. There are some advantages such as perfect peep alignment every time, but I would go with a speed loop if you wanted the peep aligner since it still uses a soft loop. Personally, I am using just a string loop right now and it works fine.

NCBH1969, none taken.<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle> I thought the same thing, but the &quot;Pro Shop&quot; I went to recommended it so I gave it a shot. I called TRU Ball and they said the loopmaster release was designed primarily for string loops, but should work fine with the TRU Nok. When I brought up the problem I was having they said that the TRU Nok actually works best with caliper style releases. After experimenting I'm back to a string loop and dumped the loopmaster because I was having a serious target panic problem. It's gone away since I switched to the Golden Key Answer release. It was probably all in my head, but I'm shooting better now, so I'm not changing.
