new to fletching arrows

I'm wanting a couple degrees right offset, do i need a helical jig for this or a straight jig?

You can offset with either one, but folks usually mean straight when they talk about offset.

Correct. Helical is twisting around the arrow. Offset is, well, for lack of a better word, cutting across the arrow. If that makes sense. Imagine you draw a line square to the arrow, down the length of the arrow. If you fletched straight with no offset, the feather would run right down the line. If you offset the feather, it will start on one side of the line and end on the other side of the line. Make sense?
Oh, and to answer the question, you set the offset with the jig, not the clamp, so either will work.
