I agree with jetblast. The AAE vanes with fastdet gel are definitely the fastest and easiest way to fletch carbons. The only problem with the AAE vanes is that they are less durable. Generally after shooting through a whisker biscuit for very long the vanes will become quite rippled. Bohning vanes are much more durable although they are next to impossible to fletch perfectly. The best thing would be to stick with the AAE vanes and refletch a little more frequently.
I just took in 2 dozen arrows to be revaned after running each maybe 40 times through the WB rest. Would it make sense to put a drop of the AAE gel at the leading edge of the vane (at the shaft) prior to shooting again? I also noticed that only my white (cock vane) was getting rippled even if I shot it in the up position?????
put a drop on the front and back. Did you use super glue gel when they were made? Also, if you have 2 dz arrows to revane, you might take a look at getting a jig and do it yourself. I use an arizona ez fletch. Works good for vanes. Sounds like you are hitting the rest. I don't know anything about WB's.
