Default Single jaw causing serving wear

I 'upgraded' from my cheap but trusty Cobra dual caliper release to a Scott Lil' Bitty Goose single jaw this year. I love the function and the adjustability of the Scott but it seems to be quickly eating my center serving. My dual jaw Cobra never seemed to cause much wear that I would notice. The jaws of Scott are smooth and undamaged so that can't be the problem.

What gives? If I tie on a string loop won't it get torn up too?

New serving? or wore from the Cobra already?. Reserve center serving and try again. You won't be disapointed. Little bitty is a nice release. IMHO

A string loop is much more durable then the center serving. Tie one on and see how much longer it lasts. The Scott Lil' Bitty Goose is a great release.
