Default Got some Slick Tricks, not entirely impressed.

I bought a pack of Slick Trick 100's this weekend because I've heard nothing but great reviews about them. When I got them home I couldn't help but put one together. Everything was great with them until I tried to shave a little patch of hair on my forearm with them. Not a single one of the blades would shave hair easily, I did manage to cut a few hairs with a lot of force, but they were nowhere near "Razor Sharp." My hunting knife is sharper than these blades. Needless to say, I took them back. I'd rather work to get a Muzzy to fly straight than have a super accurate broadhead that isn't sharp enough to do the job. I'm a little disappointed with them. If Slick Trick did a better job sharpening their blades, I'd buy them again.

Mike

I'm a bit surprized. All of the slick tricks that I bought were extremely sharp out of the package. Sharper then Muzzy's. FWIW I never put much faith in the shaving your arm test.

I assume each time I buy new broadheads I have to sharpen them. Mostof the guyshunt with only practice with the broadheads they will be hunting with and have to sharpen them . I haven't found many out of the box broadheads up to my standards. It's not surprising to have them not razor sharp, even though they advertise them to be.

They are surprisingly small, but I guess that's why they fly so well.My only complaint is their sharpness. If theywere sharper I'duse them in a heartbeat.

I don't think thatthe end usershould be responsibleforfinishing the broadheadsbefore they use them, at least not forwhat these broadheads cost. I don't have the equipment to put a razor edgeon them, and I lack the talent even if I did. Every time I've tried to sharpen a knife I'vedone mroe harmthangood. I paya professional knife sharpener to sharpen my hunting knife every year, but even if he would sharpen my broadheads I wouldn't pay him $7 to sharpen brand new blades when for$10 more than what I paid for3 not-quite-razor-sharpSlick TricksI can buy 6 Muzzy's or Thunderheads that will be sharp right out of the package. Isincerely hope Slick Trick has or will address this problem. When they do I will buy them again.

I tried the slicktricks last fall, along with the new NAP Nitrons. Both are really small and super accurate...but the Nitrons are definately WAY sharper than the slicktricks.

I agree with you on the sharpening. I do more harm than good also. I shoot all my broadheads only once at game then they get tossed aside hit or miss. But I never miss. lolI have one hell of a broadhead pile around though.
