Default Allegiance for my son

We are getting my 13 yr old son a new Allegiance. My question is can we get a 60# bow and safely back it off to 45+ pounds? My dealer says we can, no problem. But before I order it I want to make sure. He is pulling 45# with his Mustang right now and suspect he will be over 50# very soon so I don't want to get 50# limbs unless I have to.Thanks guys.

I would wait a year or two so he can grow into the bigger bows. I shot my first deer with a bow when I was 13. I was using a Browning Miro midus at 40 pounds. If the Mustang fits him and he can shoot it well there is no need to rush an upgrade. Both bows are very nice bows. If you wait a year or two you can probably get him a bow with 70 pound limbs that will last him a lot longer.

I am pretty sure you can get it down that low, but I think it would be too dangerous to shoot. I wouldn't try it. I have heard that the Allegiance draw weight feels lighter because the full force is at the front of the draw. I have an Allegiance and love it. They are great bows.
