Would 3" feathers provide as much (or more)stability as 4" vanes (for fixed blade BH's)assuming the same offset (4 degree)?

Actually a smaller feather will provide at least as much arrow control as a larger vane does.
My personal preferance would be the three inch feathers over the four inch vane any day. However, I would opt to shoot a four inch feather over all of them. Gain some speed, much better control, and a flatter trajectory over a vane fletched shaft.

Right now I'm shooting plastic vanes on carbon terminators. I am kind of new so please be patient. Are you saying that feathers on carbons would give me more accuracy?
Thnaks,

One of my favorite fletching combo's is 4 3" feathers fletched right helical. It provides as much control as a 5" vane or 3 4" feathers or 4 Blazer vanes, with lighter weight and a lower profile. 3 3" feathers would be fine for mechanical heads or any number of the smaller lower profile fixed blade heads.
