moving a peep site

My peep site needs moved up, is this something i can do by myself?

PRobably. Depending on how its tied in, its trivial or takes some reserving. If its tied in with slip knots, just slip them apart and move the peep, now slip them back together. You might have to cut the serving if its tied in, then reserve it in (very easy operation).

the only catch would be if you are not using a peep aligner (such as a rubber tube) to pull the peep around to the right angle. When you move the peep up the string, it will rotate because the strands are twisted. If this is the case, you will need a press. Move the peep, then twist one end of the string and untwist the other (to keep the same number of twists overall) until the peep comes around right.

sure is how is it anchored to your string? you will need to carefully remove whatever is the means that was used to serve it. without damaging the string. move your peep to your new location and reserve it . i use waxed dental floss as a serving works great

If you have only a small adjustment you may be able to slide the peep without removing the serving or dental floss. If you need to remove the attaching material, make sure you mark the spot where your peep is now located before removing the attaching material. One more thing to remember is that when you move your peep you will need to readjust your sights. Even a small adjustment will make a big difference in impact with your old sight settings. If you move you peep up, your shots will be high and visa versa.

Is it waxed or unwaxed dental floss i should use for serving? I've been using unwaxed.

QT, I like the waxed floss. The waxed floss stays in place and is much easier to work with. When completed tying in the peep cut the floss so you have about 1/4" nubs of the floss. Use a match to touch the floss ends to secure the ends.
