Default one more STS ?

I have a Bowtech Allegaince and I am tring to justify purchasing an STS. The bow is pretty darn queit with just the standard hush kit. Will adding the STS allow me to remove the string sileincers? Also does it cause any wear to the string or make a popping noise when the string hits it?

bigcountry,

I recently put the STS on my Allegiance and I was very happy with the results. The STS system added a little weight to the back of the bow that off-set the stabilizer up front and made the bow balance very well. I shot it with all the accessories including the hush kit and the first thing that I noticed was how quiet it made my bow. It didn't really do a whole lot for the vibration simply because their was almost none to begin with. The noise though was amazing. This bow is already very quiet but the STS system made this thing whisper quiet. I then took off my string silencers and shot the bow. It was slightly louder but still quieter than it came from the factory. Without the string silencers and just a STS system you get a different sound from the shot, it is more of a low thud from the string hitting the rubber. Now, I then decided to have a buddy of mine shoot it and I stood off to the side and that is what really suprised me as it was so quiet. The bow had a "lower/deeper" sound after the shot that seemed harder for my ears to pick up than the twap of the string.

Add to that the fact that this system helps with achieving tighter groups due to the arrow comming off the string faster and at the same point each time, and you have a product that is well worth the money!

I'm beginning to think that it really must depend on the bow. From all the posts I've read, it seems to work very well on VFT or parallel limb bows. For my Darton, it most definitely makes a slap/thud/pick your description. From my perspective, it makes the bow louder, but does take vibration away. If I could have someone shoot my bow and listen from a different place, my opinion might be different. The other issue I have with the Darton, that you wouldn't have with the Allegiance is that the power cable must rub against the Limb Saver button on the draw if I set it so my string hits the middle of the button. The Allegiance should have much less cable travel, so I doubt that it would be an issue. Both of my current bows are quiet and shoot well without the STS. If you are interested in trying one at a reduced price, shoot me a PM.

Joe......I am interested in trying out your STS.

Do you have the front mount or the rear mount.

I would need a front mount for my Razortec.

98, it is a rear mount, and I think it is spoken for.
