Default Arrow weight rating

Had a quick question.

I have some Carbon Express CX300 arrows that came fletched with vanes. The rating from the manufacturer is 8.1 grains per inch weight.

Is that rating INCLUDING the vanes? Nock? Inserts? Just bare shaft?

If anyone knows I would be grateful. Thanks!

The weight is just the bare shaft. If I had to guess I would say you can add another 35 grains to the total weight.

you can easily add 30-50grs per arrow for inserts, vanes and nocks. The 8.1 is for shaft only so you likely have plenty of weight for a hunting arrow. Its what I shoot at 60 lbs DW and 27" DL.

Add 12 grains each for the nock and insert, another 30 for the vanes, and then what ever weight point you have on it. That will get you pretty close to a finished arrow weight.
