Default Mech. Release question

I have a new Tomkat that I just picked up yesterday (yay!). In the process of test firing it at the shop, I tried a few releases and found the Tru-fire Hurricaine Extreme buckle to have a smooth release and was ok for comfort.

My bow is setup a little higher than I can easily draw. When I have the straps for the release below my wrist bones (closer to elbow), I find it much easier to draw the bow than when I have the release in the proper position on my hand.

I am just wondering how everyone draws their bow with a release - do you 'push' it away from you, 'pull' it towards or a combo of both? Having a hard time with this and I am wishing I would have gotten the 50-60lb limbs instead.

I would strongly suggest going back to the shop where you bought it and get some instruction on using releases. They should also turn down the poundage to a level where it is easier for you.

You'll get people on here who will try to help you, but they can't 'SEE' the problems.

I will go a step further and say - go back to the shop and have them assist you in performing this. That way you will have the knowledge. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Its easier to ask the proshop question and i'm guessing much less embarassing than taking your bow back to them that you tried to do an 'uninformed' repair on.
