I can't delete the background

Hello I enjoy your forums. My problem is that I downloaded one of the desk top backgrounds and now I can only use your backgrounds. Can you tell me how to delete it so I can put up this one?

Left click on the green start at your lower lefthand corner of your screen , a menu will pop up , then click on control panel.
Another window will appear , look for display panel and click on that, then click on ( desktop ) ... you'll see a little window of your current background on a little monitor.
You can either scroll down the list they have or you can click on the browse button and look for your file that you want in your pictures or documents.
Once you have found the one you want , double click on the file and it will show up in the little monitor display and then click on save or apply.

I know how to do all that what I am saying is that it will not work Its like you are a virus. I can change backgrounds if I change them with your backgrounds only. I feel violated.

Hummm .... not sure if I quite understand the problem here .... have to tried customizing your your background ?
I can use just about any picture I have saved in my documents and my pictures and have them fit to screen with no problem.
