In the upper right hand corner of a post there is three options. Reply, Quote and Fwd. Hit the quote tab and then the reply box will pop up with the message you are quoting already in it. Then just type in your reply to the quote. If you want to break a quote up if there are several things you would like to quote then answer you just put you cursor where you want the break and hit the quote tab, its the one that looks like a quote from a comic strip in the tool bar. Then you just take out the one that is not needed. You need the quote with out the backslash in the beginning of a quote and the quote with the backslash at the end. Hit the enter key a couple of times for you to have room to type and your good to go.
