Years ago I went on a hunt in PA for a Ram. I shot a Black Angora Ram and had a 3/4 mount done. 2 questions...
1....I was told that it was rare to see a black angora...almost all are white. Have any of you seen or done a black one before?
2....The Taxidermist did a shotty job. The hide is very...very...very oily and the hair has all sorts of tangles and such. There is a bare spot that is noticeable where I shot him with my bow. How can I get rid of the oily part..and what can I do to "fluff" the hair up and make it stand out?
I saw a white angora 3/4 mount that looked great 2 years ago. It looked like the T-dermist took a curling iron to it and made a bazillion curls and may have sprayed it with something to make the hair shine...Thats what I wanted...not what I got. I also wanted a 3/4 mount that would look like the Ram was coming out of the wall, almost jumping or getting ready to butt another ram. I ended up getting...at no choice of my own...a 3/4 mount with it standing straight up on a board with some artificials plants and sticks and stuff....Would a taxidermist be able to change the mount I have into what I want...and at what price?
