Default Deer Head over fireplace?

The walls are full, the only other place to hang some thing is over the fireplace. But my husband says it is bad for the fur. Does a fire in the fireplace really damage the mount?

FOR SURE!!!!!!!!!! It will cook it and dry it out. Besides the smoke damage!!! Maybe not quickly, but over time it will ruin the mount.
