Default Question About Skull Cleaning and Scoring?

So, I shot a bear the first week of December last year. The taxidermist skinned the bear out and sent the skull out to be cleaned. He got the skulls back about a week ago. So, between the head being skinned and the skull coming back from the cleaning service was about 10-11 months.

I would like to get the skull scored but it needs to be 60 days from when all soft tissue was removed. Is there a way to find out when the skull reached this state in the last 11 months?

Thanks.

No need to. The skull has to be dried AT LEAST 60 days, not 60 days exactly.

This is the end of July so it's been 8 months since you shot it. That is more than enough time the way it was handled to have it scored now and I doubt any scorer will give you a problem.

The Book requirements are that the skull has to be cleaned off of meat, etc. and then has to dry for a minimum of 60 days before scoring. If that was done after he killed it by the taxidermist who then sent it out to another place for beetles to clean it, the time frame for that to happen would have well exceeded the 60 day drying requirement.

Hey, Topgun, I realize that? However, I'm still wondering. Anyway... this thread is pretty old so, again, I'm a bit confused? The bear skull is hopefully scored by now?! So what did it score BarnesX.308?

Ha ha. I never got around to it. But it's been 2.5 years now so I guess I should get off my butt and get it done.
