Default caring for tanned cape.

Could someone please let me know if there is some kind of care I should be giving to my tanned whitetail cape. I sent it away to be tanned and it came back great..... i assumed that was the end of it until mounting..... but its been about a week now and the nose and lips, along with the forehead and face area are getting really really stiff. The rest is still nice and flexible. Just wondering If I missed something or what you would recommend. Thanks in advance.

I'm guessing this is a wet tan. You need to keep it frozen until ready to mount.

Some capes may need additional fleshing, (thinning), also may want to try applying a tanning oil or something similiar to help with relaxingthe hard areas.Without seeing the cape I can only guess.
let me know if you need more info.

A little water is all that should be needed to rehydrate the dried areas.

Dead on, you should keep frozen until mounting.
