Default Dried out antlers, How to refresh them?

I have a couple of sets of antlers that I want to mount. One is my first mule deer that I took back in 89 and the others are from my grandfather. Nothing was done to them back in the day except to hang them in an apple tree to de-flesh them. I recently picked them up and would liketo do a skull mount for the muley and just the antlers for the rest. My question is does anyone have any tips for restoring the antlers? The muley is very dry, I washed them all down and cleaned them up but the antlers are almost chalky. They almost look like when you find a shed that has been out in the woods for along time. If I stain them and wax them will they come out? I am going to practice on the other antlers before I do the muley, looking for some advice.
thanks
Jim

Buy some antler stain and give multiple coats until you get the color where you want, they should turn out fine. Ive restoredquite a few old racks this way. Sounds like they were just sun bleached real bad.

Check out Vandykes on the web, they have several products that will work.
