Default Waterfowl pro's, need help

I have a duck that I would try to mount myself, can you share the process of how you make the feathers sleek looking "lay flat as possible" and get blood out of the feathers. I have heard using dawn dish soap works. Thanks.

Can't you just rub the feathers to make them lay flat? Also, to get the blood out of the feathers, clothes detergent, or dawn would work.
