I have a doe I shot that I'd like to mount. I don't want to spend the money to have it done so I thought I'd give it a try on my own. I have a friend that has done some of his own and they look pretty nice. But he's busy and we've yet to be able to get together to work on the doe.
So my question is where should I start? What tools do I have to have and what supplies? Is there some books or videos or better yet websites I can read up on before I start?
Like I said I don't want to spend a ton but would like to have a doe on the wall with my buck.
Go to www.taxidermy.net forums, read up in the archives. Books and videos and be bought from the taxidermy supply companies. Also, the forums have a tutorial section that shows all aspects of taxidermy work.
McKenzie Taxidermy Supply has the widest range of taxidermy tools, forms etc., as they now own almost every other company. Good quality taxidermy supplies.
