Default Russian Boar mount.

Just a question for anyone that has experience. Im starting on my Russian boar shoulder mount today and have never done one of these. My question is..I have heard that turning out the nose is a real pain and you lose alot of definition in the nose after mounted. I have heard the fake nose is the way to go, just curious if anyone has any experience with these.

Yes, definately go with the repro nose. Rick Carter makes some excellent boar noses. It cuts down on your working time and makes a much better looking finish job.

Thanks, I was hoping to confirm that. I didnt want to waste a bunch of time and end up going the other way in the end.

excalibur43is 100% right on the repo nose and if you've never done a Boar You should purchase Rick Carter's Boar mounting A-Z. It is 2nd to none when it comes to DVD's!
