(your question asks about a rug and talks about a cape ????)You are asking all the basic questions, that most all of the taxidermist on this site, and any others know. You need to buy some manuals and or some videos. Learn the basics before you ask these kind of questions. You have to do something, don't leave it up to everone else. Follow the advice you have received and good luck.

Look on the Taxidermy Net. As RG said, get some manuals or videosfrom Wasco or others, and definately get some reference pics.

I am not mad at you, but do some homework before you ask the same questions on two different threads and then start another thread with another basic question. Go to - www.taxidermy.net -and read, read, read, you will find almost all the answers to any questions you have. You have to look up certain things and with the internet it is easy. Good luck.

Sounds like sending out would be your best bet for the best result. Do some homework while you have the hide comercially tanned. When you get it back you will know what one looks like that is done properly. I will tell you that there are none of those "Home Tanning Kits" that work all that great. It comes down to not being worth the time and energy to even mess with. Just a piece of advice coming from someone with almost 20 yrs. in the business. Good Luck

Tanning is not black magic there are many things that have to be done to the skin and with the skin. I am done trying to help you. You insist upon asking stupid questions without any background that says you know what you are doing. Again I am not mad just tired of wasting my time. I have been in the business for over 38 years and all I can say to you now is Good luck.
