New to taxidermy and wanted to know ifits worth tryingto tan my own deer hide or should i send it off to be done?

If on my own what tanning formulas should I try or have worked out for you?

Default RE: tanning

Tanning your own cape can be rewarding and cost effective. It can be done with simple tools, though it is easier with a fleshing machine. I personally tan all of my deer capes and use a formic acid pickle and Liquatan. If I were you I might try using Krowtan, fewer steps and fewer supplies to buy.
